Due to minimal snowmaking conditions the past couple of days, we are unable to open tomorrow, Saturday, December 17th, for snow tubing and ziplining. We typically sell out in advance for weekends and holidays. Once you have reserved and paid for your online tickets, you will receive a confirmation email. Please review your confirmation to ensure that you have booked the correct number of tickets and that your tickets are for the right day and session time. ### Make Advanced Reservations The winter is a busy season for our area so we also recommend visitors make advanced travel plans and lodging arrangements. ### Visit Our Cafe & Gift Shop During your visit, make sure to check out our onsite cafe and gift shop! Our cafe menu includes light snacks and baked goods, including giant cookies, muffins, mini doughnuts, soft pretzels, and pizza slices. We also offer a variety of hot drinks and coffee, as well as locally brewed craft beer! And don't forget to drop by our gift shop and grab a unique souvenir to remember your visit or last-minute necessities such as beanies and gloves. ### Tips for Traveling to Hawksnest Hawksnest Snow Tubing Park is located between Boone and Banner Elk, North Carolina, and is accessible by NC Hwy 105. Typically, the road up to our park and the main roads in our surrounding area are well-maintained throughout the winter months. If you have concerns about traveling, please reach out to our customer service team for updates on road conditions. ### Arrive in Advance We recommend arriving 30 minutes before your snow tubing session begins. This will allow enough time to park, check in, and use the restroom before your session begins. ### Dress For The Weather Dressing appropriately for tubing is a necessity for safety and comfort! We recommend warm, well-insulated layers with a waterproof outer layer. Winter hats, gloves, and boots are a must! Waterproof footwear is best, as your shoes and feet are likely to be wet and cold without them. Please note, that while we do have a variety of winter hats, gloves, and snow pants for sale in our gift shop, all sizes are not guaranteed. We sell a limited amount of tickets per session and therefore sell out quickly - especially for weekends and holidays. We only have walk-up tickets available if we have not already sold out online in advance. Our ticket sales are updated in real-time, meaning if we do have cancellations, our website will update automatically, and those tickets will be available for booking. We DO NOT offer phone reservations. All reservations must be made online via our website.If you need to make changes to your reservation, you have up to 48 hours in advance to make changes to your reservation or to reschedule your reservation. Pre-purchased tickets can be canceled and partially refunded up to 72 hours in advance. There is a $5 cancellation fee held per ticket; the remaining balance is fully refundable. No refunds will be issued within 72 hours of your reservation.To add or remove tickets to your reservation, to cancel, or reschedule to another date or session time, please call us directly at (828) 963-6561 to speak with a customer service representative. On busy holidays and weekends, our parking is extremely limited, so we have staff stationed in the lot to assist.If we are open for snow tubing then, yes, we have snow! Even when there is no natural snow, we keep a heavy snow base and make snow as needed, weather permitting. Children under 3 years old are not permitted to participate in snow tubing here at Hawksnest for safety reasons. Small children will be required to ride with an adult if they are not capable of reaching their feet outside of the tube to stop themselves at the bottom of the tubing lane. Just pick the date of your trip, how many tickets you need, and your preferred session time. After purchasing your tickets, you will receive a confirmation email. Don't forget - you need to check in with us upon arrival to receive your printed snow tubing tickets! ### How it Works Each participant needs their own individual ticket to enter our tubing park. Participants are responsible for breaking and stopping themselves at the bottom of our tubing runs by dragging their feet and digging their heels into the snow.After a participant has successfully made it to the bottom of the tubing run, we have three conveyor belt-style lifts or "magic carpets" that run alongside our tubing lanes to carry you back to the top.While small children are required to ride in an adult's lap or have the option to link their tubes together, multiple-person tube trains are subject to current conditions. When conditions are exceedingly cold and icy, we do not allow participants to link multiple tubes together due to safety concerns. ### Weather Related Considerations Please keep in mind that snow tubing is an outdoor winter activity and is, therefore, subject to potentially being impacted by inclement weather.
